I grew up by the river and have been collecting pebbles since I was a kid. Standing in the middle of a cold river with my trousers rolled up, my eyes seek and my fingers choose. I don't think about letters yet. “How do you manage to make such soft strokes in such a hard stone?”, a lady once asked me as she watched me carving somewhere by a karst basin. I still don't know the answer.
